About Dr. Pompliano

Michael Pompliano, M.D., is an orthopedic spine surgeon focusing on minimally invasive spine surgery. He treats conditions involving the neck and back with particular emphasis in motion-sparing surgery, including artificial disc replacement, minimally invasive procedures and complex spinal reconstruction and revision.

Dr. Pompliano takes a conservative-first approach to spine care. He listens to each patient, explains the diagnosis in detail and discusses treatment options before making an individual recommendation. Nonoperative treatments may include physical therapy, exercise and strength training, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic care and pain management injections. Surgery is recommended when these options fail to provide relief or when the condition clearly requires intervention.

When Should I See an Orthopedic Surgeon?

An orthopedic surgeon can help with musculoskeletal problems, including persistent pain lasting more than 3 months, limited range of motion, difficulty standing or moving or symptoms that affect daily activities. An acute injury that does not improve with simple measures may also require orthopedic care. Immediate medical attention is needed for certain emergencies, including broken bones, severe bleeding or loss of consciousness.
