When Should I See an Orthopedic Surgeon?
An orthopedic surgeon can help with musculoskeletal problems, including persistent pain lasting more than 3 months, limited range of motion, difficulty standing or moving or symptoms that affect daily activities. An acute injury that does not improve with simple measures may also require orthopedic care. Immediate medical attention is needed for certain emergencies, including broken bones, severe bleeding or loss of consciousness.

Recovery time depends on the type of procedure and your overall health. Some patients return to work or school within a few days, while more complex repairs may require a longer recovery period. Your surgeon may recommend rehabilitation to help restore shoulder strength and mobility. Following your treatment plan and actively participating in rehab can play an important role in your recovery.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a patient’s own blood. A sample is processed to concentrate the platelets, which contain proteins that may help the body heal. The concentrated platelet solution is then injected into the injured area. PRP may be used to treat certain orthopedic conditions, although research on its effectiveness varies.
Patients should bring a valid ID, insurance information, referral letter if required, prior imaging, a list of medications and questions for Dr. Krueger.
